Tekonsha Athletic Boosters Fundraiser Results!
Posted on 02/12/2024

This winter, the Tekonsha Athletic Boosters had a fun idea for a new fundraiser. During the month of January, individuals could vote for their favorite winter athlete, by placing money in jars set out during all of the home games, with the top three to be announced at the end of the month. Each week, they updated the status of the donations received. Winter sport season favorites fundraiser winners have been tallied, and the Boosters have announced the results...First place goes to sophomore basketball player Parker White. Second place belongs to junior basketball player Dylan Griffith. Third place is senior basketball player Blake Griffith. All of our athletes can be proud as this fundraiser raised a little over $ 1,100!

The Tekonsha Athletic Boosters would like to say thank you to all of the family, friends, and Tekonsha fans for contributing to our athletes and supporting The Tekonsha Athletic Boosters!

3rd Place - Blake Griffith

The Tekonsha Athletic Boosters presents our 3rd place fundraiser winner Blake Griffith. Blake is a senior at Tekonsha High School and has attended Tekonsha since kindergarten. We asked Blake what he likes most about playing basketball and he said “well. . . it's fun but it's not my favorite – the best thing is playing with my cousin, Dylan.”

Mr. Griffith started playing basketball when he was in second grade at the Coldwater Recreation Center. He has some years of experience playing, so we asked him what advice you would give a 6th grader that might be just starting to play basketball. He said, “shoot like a 100 shots a day if you can, because you have to master that jump shot.” Blake has played with a lot of different kids over the years and when asked, what makes a great teammate? His response was, “someone who is not selfish – wants to see his teammates score over him.”

We have truly enjoyed watching Blake play basketball over the years and wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his life. Blake has a special thank you that he wanted to share and that is for his mom, Wendy Winans. “My mom has spent a lot of time and money on me to play sports and she needs to know it is appreciated.” We would also like to thank all his family and friends for contributing to this fundraiser.
