Last week, the 3rd graders explored the book "The Energy Bus for Kids" during their weekly SEL lesson. Together with Elementary Behavior Intervenionist Mrs.Westra, students read the book and discussed the 5 rules: create a positive vision, fuel your ride with positive energy, no bullies allowed, love your passengers, and enjoy the ride. Students talked about being the driver of their very own Energy Bus! Then they brainstormed ideas for road signs to keep everyone's energy bus on the road and headed in the right direction at school. Students designed their own road signs and they are displayed on the Energy Bus themed bulletin board outside Mrs. Westra's room.
