On Thursday, November 17th, Tekonsha Middle School and High School students were given a powerful challenge. Doug Reavis, a special guest speaker, came to share his Silent Strength challenge with our students. “Today, my positive actions will speak louder than all of my words” He shared his personal story about his younger brother Chris, who was born with severe physical and cognitive delays, yet without any effort, he enthusiastically and happily showed kindness for 41 straight years. He shared that we all have gifts that his brother did not...the gift of words and action. He challenged students to use those gifts to build someone up and that their kindness could be just the thing that breathes life back into another person's day! Thank you, Doug, for sharing your brother's story with our students!
As a follow-up to the presentation, we are also starting a Kindness Wall! This is a digital forum for students, staff, and even families to share positive thoughts.
