Tekonsha Community Schools is very fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with the Tekonsha Township Library. Our middle school and high school English classes regularly walk to the library to check out books. This allows our students to have access to a certified librarian and a regularly updated collection of novels and literary resources. Recently, Sharla Vincent, the head librarian, also came up with the idea of doing library time with our elementary students by coming to them for book talks! She also brings with her a collection of age-appropriate books that some of the elementary classrooms check out. We know that the school libraries are on the list of things that could use a good face-lift, but we are so grateful to be able to meet our students' needs right now through this collaboration with the township library!
