Tekonsha Elementary has been excited to partner with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department all year with their T.E.A.M. (Teaching, Educating, And Mentoring) program. Once a month, Deputy Matthew Schimmel has visited each of our classrooms, preschool - 6th grade, to talk about safety, citizenship, and positive relationship building.
On Thursday, April 9, Deputy Schimmel brought a special guest, Laurie Hartman. Ms. Hartman is the Community Educator from Bronson Hospital. Ms. Hartman joined with Deputy Schimmel to talk about body and cyber security with our students. She also provided special booklets to each student to bring home to parents. Parents can use this resource to continue these important safety conversations at home with their children.
Thank you to Deputy Schimmel, Ms. Hartman, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and Bronson Hospital for supporting these programs to help keep our students safe!
