T-Town Tech had their first competition on Saturday and Sunday, March 1 -2, at Battle Creek Central High School. This year the team consists of returning members Preston Pombier, Vayda Nyland, Barric Groholske, Brandon Sammon, and Aundrea Gay and new members Rowynn Sutton and Rahjah Maysonet. Team coaches are Ryan and Krista Groholske and Matt Lindsey.

The team had a great showing in Battle Creek, staying in the top of the rankings throughout the competition. They finished qualifying matches ranked 7th out of 38 teams going into the playoffs. This was a significant achievement, as it meant that the team was selected to be a captain of one of the play-off alliances. This was the fist time that T-Town Tech has achieved this honor! The team had a strong showing during the playoffs, and they were narrowly defeated in their final match, with their alliance finishing 4th overall in the competition.

The students are all excited to continue to work on their robot to get ready for their second competition, held on March 21-23 at Mason High School in Mason, MI. Their sights are set on qualifying for the state meet for the third year in a row, and we absolutely believe that they will do it!
