In addition to our other wonderful opportunities here at Tekonsha Community Schools, we also believe that some students require more hands on techniques to maximize their potential and yet others need specific science and math based training when they get ahead of their peers.
(Calhoun Area Career Center)
The Calhoun Area Career Center specializes in career and technical education and functions as an extension of our school with many programs designed for the advancement of 11th and 12th grade students. CACC is a springboard we use to get students ready for life after high school. Tekonsha students attend the first half of their school day in regular classes before being bused to CACC for the second half. Eligible students pursue study in any of 18 different programs ranging from 21st Century Health to Culinary Arts/Hospitality and from Early Childhood Education to Construction Technology. Many of these programs offer college credits, giving our students an advantage when applying to college.
The Math and Science Center offers students diverse college-prep courses in mathematics and science technology. Our students spend half their day in accelerated math and science courses while continuing with their regular studies here at Tekonsha for the other half of their day. Math and Science Center courses allow for more advanced students to study subjects faster and more in depth than in traditional classrooms. An examination is required for consideration into the program.
And don’t miss these fantastic opportunities for your child!
